(WAND) - Former Illinois standout cornerback Devon Witherspoon was voted to his third straight Pro Bowl with the Seattle Seahawks, the NFL announced Tuesday.

Illinois Athletics said that Witherspoon joined Chicago Bears Hall of Famer Dick Butkus as the only Illini players to earn Pro Bowl selections in their first three seasons.

Witherspoon is the first Illinois player to earn three such selections since Simeon Rice.

Additionally, he is just the seventh player in program history to make three or more Pro Bowls during their NFL careers, per U of I Athletics.

Witherspoon has 64 combined tackles in 10 starts for the NFC-leading Seahawks.
