(WAND) - The #11 Illinois Fighting Illini take their five-game winning streak on the road against the Duke Blue Devils Saturday.

Illinois came into the 2025 campaign with its highest preseason ranking since 1990, and was not about to let Western Illinois spoil the fun in a 52-3 demolition of the Leathernecks. Dating back to last season, the Illini have won five games in a row, beginning with a win over Michigan State in November. That is tied for the longest active streak in the Big Ten with the defending national champion Ohio State Buckeyes.

Both teams are facing off for the first time since 1965, when the Illini defeated Duke 28-14 in Champaign. Get used to seeing them folks, as Illinois is scheduled to host the Blue Devils at Memorial Stadium in 2026, as part of a home-and-home series between the two squads.
