CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) — With Illini quarterback Luke Altmyer out of eligibility, the team has signed someone from the transfer portal that could help fill his shoes next season.

The program announced that quarterback Katin Houser will transfer to Illinois Sunday.

The senior QB played for Michigan State from 2022-23 and East Carolina from 2024-25.

Houser has thrown for 6,438 yards and 43 touchdowns in his career. He has also ran for 15 touchdowns.
