CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - Fresh off a game-winning field goal in the Music City Bowl, Illinois kicker David Olano is leaving Champaign-Urbana ahead of the 2026 campaign.Â
Olano announced on X Thursday that he will enter the transfer portal for his final year of eligibility.Â
During his time with the Illini, Olano was a two-time All-Big Ten honorable mention.
Before the bowl game versus Tennessee, Olano ranked No. 33 nationally by converting 85% of his field goal attempts, according to Illinois Athletics.Â
Olano kicked a 28-yard field goal against the Volunteers in Nashville, his second game-winner of the season after nailing a 41-yarder against the USC Trojans in September.Â
