(WAND) - Illini women's soccer takes the field ahead of their home contest with Purdue.

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) - For the first time since 2013, the Illinois women's soccer has been selected to compete in the NCAA Women's College Cup.

The Illini will travel to Tennessee to meet the #7 seed, Memphis, on Saturday, November 15 at 7pm.

It continues an already historic season for Illinois under first-year head coach Katie Hultin. The Illini returned to the Big Ten tournament for the first time since 2020. The program won their opening round game against #8 seeded Ohio State, but fell to the eventual champions in Washington. Their record of 13-5-2 is their most in a season since 2011.

Three players earned All-Big Ten honors. Goalkeeper Izzy Lee and forward Sarah Foley were named to the conference Second Team, while forward Cayla Jackson was awarded Third Team honors.

During the team's postseason in 2013, the Illini won their way to the Sweet 16 of the tournament. Their trip in 2025 marks the 13th time in program history they've qualified for the Women's College Cup.

Memphis finished their season with a record of 16-0-3, including a 9-0-1 record in the American Conference.
