CLINTON, Ill. (WAND) - Power has been restored to over 1,500 people in DeWitt County who were without power on Sunday.Â
Ameren notified Clinton officials that all power had been restored in the city, according to an update posted to the City's Facebook page.Â
However, Clinton Schools did cancel classes for Monday.
According to the Ameren Illinois outage map, 1,574 customers in the Clinton area were affected for much of the day, after the outage started just after 10 a.m.
The City of Clinton shared that Ameren had told the City a burnt-up pole caused the outage, and that crews are currently working to set a new pole.Â
