CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) -- Illinois is riding a 10 game win streak, the last time they loss a game back on December 13 against their opponent Sunday afternoon Nebraska.
The last time the Illini and Cornhuskers played it was at the State Farm Center where Jamarques Lawrence hit a game winning three just before the buzzer.
Head Coach Brad Underwood said December feels like an eternity ago and both teams are much different from the first meeting.
Heading into Lincoln they are preparing for another hostile road environment but need to be much better on the defensive side of the ball.
Underwood said they are preparing for another physical battle on both sides of the ball, with Nebraska not having many turnovers on the year.
Underwood also said they will still be without Ty Rodgers and Kylan Boswell, but Saturday announced redshirt freshman Jason Jakstys will be out for the season with a blood clot in his shoulder as he under goes treatment.
The Illini and Cornhuskers take the court in Lincoln Sunday afternoon for a top 10 match-up. Tip off is scheduled for 3 p.m. as Illinois looks to stay undefeated on the road in Big 10 play.
