SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - The Illinois capitol city becomes the center of Prospect League baseball this week as the Springfield Lucky Horseshoes prepare to host the 2025 All-Star Game.

Events kicked off Monday with an alumni game followed by a home run derby at Robin Roberts Stadium. It's another event in an already historic season as the ballpark celebrates its 100th year of hosting baseball.

Three players on the Lucky Horseshoes roster were picked to the Eastern Conference team. Sacred Heart-Griffin grad Louie Bartletti is joined by fellow Springfield native Charlie Linderman. Jarrett Chapman from San Jose, California, will also represent the 'Shoes.

"It's really neat just Springfield being the center of this league this year," Bartletti says. "Jamie [Toole] and the Horseshoes have done a really good job, promoting the All-Star Game and just this whole whole week. It's really cool to see a bunch of guys who I've played against this past month in the league here on the same team and playing against them too."

The All-Star game is set to begin around 6:30pm Tuesday night. Tickets to the event cost $13-$16.
