Millikin hangs around with No. 6 Illinois Wesleyan but ultimately falls 76-60

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The Millikin Men's basketball team hung around with the sixth ranked team in the country, but eventually came up short.

The Big Blue fell to Illinois Wesleyan 77-60 on Wednesday at the Griswold Center.

After shooting 62% in the first half, the Big Blue and Titans were deadlocked at 36.

But Millikin struggled from the field in the second half, shooting just 32%, ultimately dropping the contest to their bitter rival.

Despite the loss, Millikin's Lane Thoman led all scorers with 24 points.

Millikin will be back in action whey host Elmhurst at 4:15pm on Saturday at the Griswold Center.
