Mt. Zion looking to end historic season with win at 4A state championship

MT. ZION, Ill. (WAND) -- We are less than 24 hours away from state football 1A through 4A taking the field at Hancock Stadium Friday with a chance to bring home the title, Mt. Zion will play in the 4A championship against DePaul. 

The Braves are looking to make history this season and winning the programs first ever state championship after making it the final game of the season for the first time ever.

After an up and down season with results and injuries the team feels they finally have all the right pieces in play.

And after already playing at Hancock Stadium in the semi finals they are ready to leave it all on the field under the lights.

The Braves have the night game Friday when they take on Chicago DePaul. Kick off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
