CHAMPAIGN -- After two seasons, St. Thomas More girls basketball coach Jay Price is stepping down.
Price told his players in a meeting Friday, according to the Champaign News-Gazette's Matt Daniels.
A former assistant at Illinois, Price took the job in 2014, and helped take the Sabers to consecutive sectional final appearances. St. Thomas More lost to Lincoln Thursday night in a 3A sectional game.
According to the News-Gazette's report, Price is taking a private sales job with a company in Kansas City, Mo.
The coach leaves at the same time as their star player, Tori McCoy. The departing senior is set to play college ball at Ohio State.
