A sunny next few days ahead

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - Happy Tuesday! Sunny skies have been with us throughout the entire day today and will continue to do so as we head into the night tonight. Clearer skies allowed us to warm up back in the mid to lower 80s across the area.

High pressure is situated around the Great Lakes and will control our weather for the next couple of days. As this system continues to push to the southeast, we will see winds shift as a result. More southern wind flow towards the end of the workweek means more moisture also makes its way back into our area.

That moisture also will come into play this weekend, as we anticipate the return of showers and thunderstorms into the forecast. Saturday looks to bring the best chance for showers and storms across our area. At this time, there is no concern for severe weather this upcoming weekend in central Illinois.
