DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - Happy Monday! The rain and storms have moved off, and we are drying out across Central Illinois. There were several tornado warnings on Sunday. The National Weather Service will work on surveying areas with damage to determine how strong the tornadoes were. They will have that data in the next few days.
Today will be much calmer behind the storms. Expect mostly cloudy skies throughout much of the day with temperatures staying mild in the low 70s. Clouds will break late this afternoon, and mostly clear skies will return overnight. Tuesday is looking gorgeous with nothing but sunshine. High temperatures on Tuesday will hit the upper 70s.
Rain chances will return for the middle of the week. Scattered showers and a few thunderstorms can’t be ruled out for Wednesday and Thursday afternoon. Temperatures will slowly increase into the low 80s by the end of the week.
