Cooler & drier behind the cold front

DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - Happy Sunday! A cold front passing through this morning will bring a shift to cooler and drier conditions later today; however, we’ll start the day with some of the lingering raindrops.

Isolated showers are possible along and north of I-72 early this morning, and cloudy skies will stick around across the region. By midday, the departing cold front will allow us to dry out and allow skies to clear. By the late afternoon, we’ll be mostly sunny, and highs will be in the low 70s.

Tonight, mostly clear skies set up the radiational cooling machine. This will bring overnight lows down to the low 50s. Sunshine and cooler conditions persist into the start of the work week, and rain and thunderstorms hold off until midweek.
