DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) -Â Happy Sunday! Our start to the week features sunshine and pleasant conditions, and the story will continue well into next week.Â
High pressure is in control this week, and as a result, mostly sunny skies will allow temperatures to warm into the upper 80s. A few locations may even approach the 90 degree mark.Â

Clear skies tonight sets us up for radiational cooling, bringing overnight lows back to the low 60s and upper 50s.Â
This dry stretch will only contribute to the drought that has spread across central Illinois, and worsened throughout the last several weeks. Decatur rainfall by this time of the month would normally be at 2.72 inches, yet so far, we’ve only seen 1.08 inches. Even so, our next chances for rain likely won’t return until the start of next week.
