(WAND) - Excessive rainfall is expected to wrap up the workweek across central Illinois.
Showers and thunderstorms will continue to build starting midmorning and linger throughout your Saturday.
Â
While a chance for some hail exists Friday, the opportunity remains less than 10 percent and isolated to the I-70 corridor.
Â
The widespread issue remains the heavy rainfall that many central Illinoisans can expect.Â
Â
Nearly 2.5" is forecasted for communities south of I-72 leading to flooding concerns.
Â
The ground remains saturated from recent storms and therefore leaves nowhere for incoming rain to runoff to.
Â
This will lead to sitting water and potentially some flooded roadways.
Â
Avoid flooded roadways at all costs and find an alternative route.
