Isolated snow showers return this evening

DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - Happy Sunday! Sunshine stops by early, but cloudy skies return as we head throughout the morning and midday ahead of snow chances.

An area of low pressure farther north will bring cloudy skies to Central Illinois today, along with isolated snow showers by the late afternoon and early evening. These showers will be mainly limited to areas west of I-57, and thanks to freezing ground temperatures, we can expect accumulations up to a light dusting.

Highs today will be in the low 20s, but tonight we only dip into the mid-teens thanks to lingering clouds—Milder air rolls in by tomorrow, kicking off a milder temperature pattern for the work week.

Another chance for a coating of snow for areas south of I-72 returns Tuesday morning.
