More snow and frigid air returns this weekend

DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - Happy Friday! We are back to quiet conditions for today, but the break will be short-lived with snow returning this weekend.

A few stray flurries will be possible this morning, and a light breeze may blow around leftover snow from last night, and a few areas have a chance for fog. This may briefly limit visibility this morning, but we’ll be cloudy and quiet throughout the rest of our day.

Tomorrow, snow arrives early and becomes widespread and steady throughout the midday and afternoon. This system will likely bring a couple inches across the region. With breezy conditions up to 15 mph, expect limited visibility at times.

Behind the snow, cold arctic air moves in. Even with a slight breeze, the air temperatures in the negative single digits will feel more like negative twenties and teens. The frigid conditions will be short-lived, and milder temperatures will return by the midweek.
