(WAND) - Thankfully, Tuesday was a day with zero injuries and fatalities from severe storms. Unfortunately, that hasn't been the case all season. A season that has already surpassed the yearly average number of tornadoes. Â
Tuesday's round of severe weather spawned numerous funnel clouds that eventually became a tornado.Â
The National Weather Service survey crew has confirmed a minimum of seven tornadoes. The EFU rating is an EF Unknown. The unknown part comes from a lack of damage to survey- and that's good news.Â
Tornadoes are classified by the Enhanced Fujita Scale, or EF. It's a tornado scale classified by damage. So, if a tornado develops in an open field, or in Tuesday's case, only briefly touches the ground, there is no damage to properly estimate the wind speed.  Â
Additional surveys may eventually make Tuesday's outbreak even higher.
