Raindrops to start the month

DECATUR, IL. (WAND) - Happy Monday and happy June! We’re kicking off the month with chances for rain showers throughout the day.

We start the day with a few scattered rain showers this morning, but mainly southwest of I-74. This comes with a few distant rumbles of thunder, and then it fizzles out by midday. Early afternoon sunshine and clouds will allow temperatures to warm to the low 80s.

Another round of scattered showers returns this evening. A few isolated thunderstorms will be possible, but severe weather chances are nearly zero. By late tonight and overnight, we’ll be drying back out and clearing skies. This will allow temperatures to drop into the mid to upper 50s overnight.

Sunshine returns as high-pressure centers over the southern Great Lakes by midweek. Temperatures will remain warm and conditions pleasant, but rain will be on the horizon heading into next weekend.
