DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) -Â Happy meteorological fall! We've already seen some fall-like temperatures in the last few weeks, and we have plenty more in the near future.
Our quiet and clear weather pattern continues tonight, leaving temperatures to drop into the mid 50s. Tomorrow, we are back to warm and pleasant weather in the low 80s.Â
Our next weathermaker arrives Wednesday with a cold front. This will bring a few isolated showers early, and scattered thunderstorms later in the afternoon and evening. Showers will gradually taper off by Thursday morning, but one last chance for a few showers returns Friday with a secondary cold front. Much cooler temperatures will move in behind this front, especially overnight.Â
Rain totals will be underwhelming by the end of the week. Excluding where isolated strong thunderstorms sweep by, overall totals will struggle to climb above a half of an inch.
