DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - September is off to a cool start with temperatures in Decatur running six degrees below average.

However, that'll change quickly as a warming trend builds across the Midwest.

Highs today will be about average for this time of the year around 80°.  We'll drop back into the 50s tonight.

Starting Wednesday into Monday, it'll turn hot again with highs in the upper-80s to the low-to-mid-90s.

The humidity will be creeping up again, but not at the levels we experienced for much of the summer.

Rain chances are slim.  An isolated shower is possible Wednesday across our western hometowns and a few showers are possible this weekend.
