Back-to-School celebrations and End-of-Summer events underway

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - As summer comes to a close and students and teachers get ready to return to school, they're making the most of the season with some exciting events!

Back to School Bashes

Bikes & Backpacks

When: Saturday, July 26, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Legacy Harley-Davidson, 1315 Althoff Dr., Effingham, IL
Features: Kid-judged bike show, free backpacks and haircuts for school-aged kids

Holly Brook Back to School Bash

When: Saturday, July 26, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Villas of Holly Brook, 901 Medical Center Dr., Monticello, IL
Features: Farm animals, inflatable water slide, side by side rides, school supplies, carnival games, food, and more

90's Back to School Bash

When: Friday, August 1, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Where: Crowder Park, Bethany, IL
Features: DJ, food and drink, attendees invited to wear their best 90's clothes

Abraham Lincoln Presidential Library and Museum's Back to School Bash

When: Saturday, August 2, from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Where: Union Square Park, 500 E. Madison St., Springfield, IL, next to the museum
Features: Tee-ball, trivia, bookmark making, seeing police dogs in action, free haircuts for kids, explore a fire truck or ambulance, upcycle fabric

Backpacks and Blueprints

When: Saturday, August 2, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Where: Decatur Civic Center, 1 Gary K. Anderson Plz., Decatur, IL
Features: Free backpacks and school supplies, treasure chest challenge

Full Gospel Evangelistic Center's annual Back to School Bash

When: Saturday, August 2, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: 304 N. McLean St., Lincoln, IL
Features: Free school supplies, bouncy house, snow cones, cotton candy, popcorn, hot dogs and drinks.

Imboden Creek Back to School Party

When: Thursday, August 7, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

Annual Free Backpack & Community Event

PVO PTO Back to School Bash

When: Saturday, August 9, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
