CHARLESTON, Ill. (WAND) — After the holidays, what do I do with my Christmas tree?
Have the city pick up your Christmas tree curbside in Charleston.
The Charleston Illinois Police Department posted on their Facebook page that they will host a curbside collection of live trees on January 8 and 9.
They said all of the trees would need to be placed at 7 a.m. on Wednesday, January 8.
The public works department said they would only go through the city that day at that time to collect trees. They asked people to remove ornaments, lights, plastic bags, stands, and other items.
The trees will be turned into mulch by the city's landscape waste facility, located off West Madison Avenue. Residents can also dispose of their trees there if they choose to.
