CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) — It was a sweet start to a Friday morning.
Dunkin Donuts across Central Illinois took part in the 22nd annual Cop on a Rooftop.
Representatives from the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Illinois took to the rooftops of Dunkin' to raise money for athletes competing in the Special Olympics.Â
"It's for a great cause!" shared Senior Marketing and Communications Specialist for the Special Olympics Illinois, Michelle Mayer. "Special Olympics Illinois provides year round sports and training, health education, and leadership training for people with intellectual disabilities all over the state of Illinois."
Dunkin’ guests who donated to Cop on a Rooftop received free items.
Cop on a Rooftop has raised nearly 10 million dollars for Special Olympics Illinois programming since it started in 2003.
