DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - DMH will host the Cruise-In for Cancer event on Saturday, September 6.
The classic car cruise-in event will raise awareness about early detection, screening, and prevention of prostate and lung cancers. It will run from noon to 4 p.m. at 210 W. McKinley Ave. in Decatur.
"We are excited to offer this free event to the public," said Jill Andrews, manager of Medical Imaging Services at Memorial Cancer Care, Decatur. "It's a fun opportunity to combine entertainment with raising awareness about the potentially lifesaving benefits of screenings and early detection of prostate and lung cancers."
The event will include music and food and drinks available for purchase from Mimi's Frosty, La Perlita, and Big Blue Energy.
Awards will be given to "Best in Show," "People's Choice," and "Survivor's Choice."
Vehicle registration is required but there is no cost to enter a classic car. Car registration begins at 10:30 a.m. with awards at 3:30 p.m.
