SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) - Harness racing helped kick off the 2026 Illinois State Fair Grandstand season.
Races began Thursday morning and will be free to attendees for the remainder of the fair.
Other harness races at the fair will take place on the following dates:
- Friday at 11 a.m.
- Saturday at 11 a.m.
- Wednesday. Aug. 19, at 11 a.m.
- Thursday, Aug. 20, at 11 a.m.
Additionally, there will be auto races on the dirt track, with the USAC Bettenhausen 100 on Saturday, Aug. 22, and the ARCA 100 + Sportsman Nationals on Sunday, Aug. 23.
