CHATHAM, Ill. (WAND) — Hundreds of people came together to raise money at the Chatham Strong Fest on Sunday.

The event raised money for the families affected when a car crashed into an after school camp in Chatham, killing five children.

There was live music, food and an auction. It was not just an opportunity to raise money, but a way to raise the community up.

Co-founder Jeff Loftus said the tight-knit community has rallied in the face of this tragedy.

"This community is one of the best around. They're very generous. I've been through this 15 years ago with my own daughter, so I know how the community reaches out," Loftus said.

Anyone that missed the event can still make a donation on their website.
