DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The Illinois Pastors Coalition is trying to bring some hope back to the community.
The coalition will host a Violence Prevention Carnival from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the Cultural Arts Center on Leafland Avenue.
Attendees can enjoy activities such as live entertainment, bounce houses, face painting, games and more.
Free food will also be on hand for carnival-goers.Â
"We know that every community deals with a certain amount of violence. And we are working to bring community awareness and unity together, and also to help build strong families, because we believe that is the core of a change in our community," said Bishop James Wills with the Illinois Pastors Coalition.
The coalition said the carnival will focus on promoting safety, unity and positive engagement for Decatur families.
