MONTICELLO, Ill. (WAND) — A World War II veteran celebrated his 100th birthday in Monticello Saturday.
Charlie Striegel celebrated his birthday surrounded by family and friends at the Monticello Community Building.
Striegel served in the navy, and said he still feels as young as ever.
"I feel just as good now as I did when I was probably 40 years old," Striegel said. "The good lord is taking care of me, I don't have any pain in my body."
Striegel said he even got his driver's license renewed a few weeks ago, and credited faith for his long life.
