Midwest Toy and Comic Fest brings special event to Decatur

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — Midwest Toy and Comic Fest will be making a "side quest" to Decatur.

On April 13, over 100 tables full of comics, toys, sports cards, video games, Funko Pop figures, artwork, and other collectibles will be found at the Decatur Hotel and Conference Center 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Midwest Toy and Comic Fest Presents: Side Quest Decatur will also feature Smash Brothers and Mario Kart video game tournaments with cash prizes.

Tickets are $5 and kids under 10 are free as long as they're accompanied by an adult.

Special guests Paul Niemeyer and Issak Wells will be in attendance. Niemeyer is an American artist who created artwork on dozens of arcade cabinets including creating the dragon logo for Mortal Kombat. Wells has became an internet sensation for his Skeletor Facts videos on Instagram and Snapchat.

A costume contest with kid and adult divisions will take place at 2 p.m.
