MONTICELLO, Ill. (WAND) - Students in Monticello reflected on history by putting together a museum.
A Holocaust memorial museum is now on display on Wednesdays and Thursday evenings at Monticello High School.
The sophomore class created original artifacts to display for the exhibit.
Students spent time in class studying the Holocaust and related readings before beginning the museum.
Kara Hettinger, an English teacher at the school, said the final product is the result of their hard work.
"As they're researching, and as they're pulling things together, artifacts, constructing pieces, they're doing it on topics that they're interested in and that they want to represent faithfully," Hettinger said.
