DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a Decatur crash Thursday.
Decatur Police said they were called to the intersection of Martin Luther King and Division for a crash just before 4 p.m.
Police said a motorcycle was going south on Martin Luther King approaching Division. A vehicle was going east on Division approaching Martin Luther King. There are stop signs at the intersection for eastbound and westbound traffic on Division at Martin Luther King.
Police said the vehicle stopped and then entered the intersection. They said the motorcycle hit the back driver's side door of the vehicle. The motorcyclist was thrown from the bike.
The driver of the vehicle was not injured. The driver of the motorcycle, a 38-year-old Decatur man, was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries.

DPD said the motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet and did not have an endorsement on his driver's license for a motorcycle.
Officers said there was no evidence that the driver of the vehicle was under the influence.
The crash is still being investigated by police.
