DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — Coney McKane's American Eatery, Jimmy John's, the Original Del's Popcorn Shop and CM Catering will present the first-ever Downtown Decatur Fall Family Festival this weekend, with the intent of making it an annual event.

The festival will also serve as a fundraiser for Huntington's Disease, a neurodegenerative disorder. This is a cause near and dear to organizer Nick Cox's heart.

"Huntington's disease is actually pretty near and dear to my family. I've got family that's affected directly by this disease, and it's not a very friendly disease," Cox said. "This year, I wanted to be able to use my platform, as well as partnering with some of the rest of the people downtown, to kind of broaden what we can offer and how we can help contribute to the Huntington's Disease Society of America."

Many of the vendors will be donating portions of their revenue to the Huntington's Disease Society of America.

The festival will cover Merchant Street and Prairie Avenue, with each street appealing to different crowds. Merchant Street is meant for all ages, featuring an inflatable obstacle course and the Boy Scouts' S.T.E.M. trailer. Prairie Avenue is for adults 21 and up, featuring a beer garden, putting green and a bags tournament with a $500 prize. The two streets will be connected by a stage, with performances throughout the day from The Standalone Steves, Ryan Mundy, and DJ T.A.T.

The festival will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 18.
