DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The Illinois Department of Transportation announced a project to upgrade the signals and circuitry at the railroad crossing just north of U.S. 36 on Illinois 121 (22nd Street) in Decatur is tentatively scheduled for this week.
Work will take place Thursday, Jan. 23, and Friday, Jan. 24. It will start at 8 a.m. and should wrap up at 5 p.m. both days. ​
Upgrades will be installed by the Decatur and Eastern Illinois Railroad.
The northbound turn lane from eastbound U.S. 36 will be closed to accommodate the upgrades.
Traffic will be able to use 23rd Street and William Street as an alternate route.
Drivers are told to expect delays.
