Santa Shuffle returns to the DISC

DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — The Santa Shuffle for kids is returning to the Decatur Indoor Sports Center.

Tracey Whitten with the DISC said the event gets active over the holidays.

"It is so much fun to see not only the parents and the grandparents get excited to watch the kids accomplish something but the kiddos to see them cross the finish line and earn that medal around their neck. We hope that it is giving them the idea that fitness can be fun and that it keeps them excited to do maybe races down the road."

The kids will run on the indoor track, and there will also be games and inflatables. Every kid participating will get a medal, a cookie, and a photo with Santa.

They will start the fun on December 8 with the 2-4-year-old group from 3-3:15 p.m., 5-6-year-olds are scheduled to run from 3:15-30 p.m., 7, and 8-year-olds will run from 3 30-4 p.m., and 9-10-year-olds take off at 3:45-4:00 p.m.

And don't forget, the other Santa Shuffle run is also taking place on December 7 prior to the Decatur Christmas parade.
