DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) – The Decatur Regional Chamber of Commerce held its annual Chamber Awards to honor the accomplishments of the business community over the past year.
Along with the business awards, Mayor Julie Moore Wolfe presented the Citizen of the Year award to Melverta Wilkins for her work in the community, including the creation of Sista Girls. The organization has been going strong for more than a decade and brings empowerment to young women and girls in the area.
