SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — The Springfield Police Department will offer an event to strengthen their relationship with the community.Â
The 10th annual "Bridging the Gap" event offers an opportunity for residents to connect with first responders.
It is a free, family-friendly event. There will be games, live entertainment, food and interactive demonstrations from first responders. People can also explore emergency vehicles and meet emergency personnel one-on-one.
The event will be on Saturday, August 23 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Jaycee Park.
