TUSCOLA, Ill. (WAND) — One Douglas County diner is opening its doors to give back to the community this Thanksgiving.
Star 57 Diner in Tuscola will host a Thanksgiving buffet from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday.
Co-owner Nita Zekjiri said the meal is a way to help the community during what she called a time of uncertainty. She said she wants people to have a place to go for a hot meal.
"So many support us, so we want to support them back and give back. I think it's nice to have a place to go if you don't want to cook, or don't have anywhere to go, or your family is far," said Zekjiri. "Our customers are like family to us, so that's why we wanted to do this."
Anyone is welcome to attend and no reservations are needed. The restaurant is located at 1104 Tuscola Boulevard, Tuscola, IL.
