SANGAMON COUNTY, Ill. (WAND) — The Sangamon County Sheriff's Office announced the release of its new mobile app to give residents streamlined access to Sheriff's Office services and information.
"The Sheriff's App" allows users to access a wide range of resources easily from their phones, including inmate search, sex offender information, jail details, records requests, news updates and non-emergency tip submissions.
The app will also feature program information such as TRIAD and senior services, Sheriff's Explorers, upcoming community events, court security guidance and additional public-facing tools. It also includes a page to view current employment opportunities and apply for jobs directly through the Sheriff's Office.
In the event of severe weather, major incidents, road closures or other public safety threats, push notifications can be sent directly to users to provide timely updates.Â
"Our goal is to give residents a simple and reliable way to stay connected with our office," said Sangamon County Sheriff Paula Crouch. "This app puts important information and resources in one place, making it easier for the public to stay informed and engage with the services we provide."
The sheriff's office reminds that the app is not meant for reporting emergencies. It is now available for download in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.
