URBANA, Ill. (WAND) - A hostel could be coming to the City of Urbana.
On July 14, the Urbana City Council approved a special use permit for developers to transform the former Kappa Delta house on the corner of Lincoln and Indiana Avenue into a budget-friendly, dorm-style hotel.
The former sorority house has been vacant since 2021.
The hostel will house a maximum of 60 guests with 10 private rooms, 10 shared rooms and several bathrooms.
The property's new owners would renovate the house and live on-site.
