URBANA, Ill. (WAND) -Â The Urbana Police Department Community Engagement Team, in partnership with Urbana School District 116 and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School, is participating in the Stuff the Squad school supply drive.
From August 1 through August 14, 2026, people are asked to donate new school supplies to help fill an Urbana Police Department squad car with essential classroom items at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Elementary School.
89% of students at Dr. King School qualify for free lunch.Â
"Every child deserves to start the school year with confidence and the supplies they need to succeed," said representatives from the Urbana Police Department Community Engagement Team. "Whether you donate one notebook or a backpack filled with supplies, every contribution helps ensure our students are ready to learn, grow, and thrive."

• Pencils
• Crayons
• Markers
• Folders
• Glue
• Scissors
