MAROA, Ill. (WAND) — TLC Coffee House & Ice Cream hosted their first Summer Market, with over a dozen unique vendors.

In a small town that can easily be overlooked, small businesses banded together to show off the hidden gems Maroa holds.

Co-owner of TLC Coffee House & Ice Cream, Chapman Schanefelt, said that he and his wife wanted to find a way to showcase all that Maroa has to offer, and that a vendor market was the perfect solution.

"We know it's a small town. There's not a ton to do here, but the community is all really supportive of the local restaurants and businesses that are here," he said.

With great food, fun drinks, fresh produce, and handmade gifts -- there was something for everyone. Schanefelt said he was happy to help foster a sense of community.

"Watching all the smiles, people getting different stuff, supporting the vendors, coming in and getting coffee. Just seeing all the community together, meeting new people."

Schanefelt said they are planning another vendor market for the fall, but they are still working out the details.
