DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) - The WAND December Educator of the Month is Karli Grueninger.
Grueninger is a third grade teacher at Unity Christian School in Decatur.
Here's an excerpt from her nomination:
"Mrs. Grueninger is not just a teacher. She is the kind of person who changes the atmosphere of a room, the direction of a child’s future, and the weight a mother carries in her heart. She is hope with a name. She is kindness with a purpose. She is the steady presence that reminds families like mine that brighter days are ahead. And that is why Mrs. Grueninger — Mrs. G deserves to be the WAND Educator of the Month. Because she doesn’t just teach. She transforms. She lifts. She loves. And she changes lives."
Grueninger's win came with a personalized plaque and $500.
