DECATUR, Ill. (WAND) — The Macon County Fair returns this week for its 168th year.
Running from June 5-9, the event will feature live entertainment, livestock shows, and harness racing as well as games, food vendors, and commercial vendors.

Admission to the fair is $5.00 per person and children under 4 are free.
Fairgoers can now choose to park on the fairgrounds or at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and board a Decatur Transit Bus and shuttle to the fairgrounds. This will allow for more parking and keep the traffic under control. Admission to the fair will be collected at the gates.
With construction ongoing on IL 121, the fair board has provided this map that shows an alternate route to avoid slowdowns.

The fair opens with Downstate Classic Harness Racing at 4:00 pm in the grandstand. Tickets are $10 adults to 12, $6 children 11-5, under 4 are free. There will be a derby hat contest with a prize.
“We continue to improve the Macon County Fair so that everyone can enjoy it and become more familiar with agriculture and the role it plays in everyone’s lives. Come out and enjoy five full days of fun," said Fair President Evan Hall.
