CLINTON, Ill. (WAND) — A 16-year-old is recovering after a Sunday night shooting in Clinton.
Police responded to the intersection of N. Center Street and Woodlawn Street at 11:32 p.m. after receiving reports of shots fired. Once on scene, officers found a teen who had been shot multiple times. Police said the victim is in stable condition in the hospital.
The DeWitt County Sheriff's Office and Illinois State Police Crime Scene Services are helping in the investigation.
Police said this appears to be an isolated incident and there is no ongoing threat to the community.
