DANVILLE, Ill. (WAND) — Police are investigating after a man was found dead during the demolition of a building in Danville Thursday afternoon.
The Danville Police Department said officers responded to 128 N. Walnut Street, formerly Studio 25, just after 12:30 p.m. for reports of a dead body being found.
Police found a person, later identified by the Vermilion County Coroner as 49-year-old Shawn Williams, dead at the scene. The coroner's office stated that Williams' body had been at the site "for some time."
The autopsy results are pending, and the investigation is ongoing.
