Christmas lights glowing, blurred

SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (WAND) — Need a place to drop off your holiday lights that are unused or broken? You can do so for free in the city of Springfield.

Springfield Mayor Misty Buscher said in an email that the city is once again collecting holiday lights until January 3, 2025. Boxes will be available for people to drop off lights at Lincoln Library's lobbies and the city Municipal Center West Building located at 300 S. 7th Street.

BLH Computers organizes the event, and the proceeds donated will go to the Rotary Club of Springfield Sunrise.
