MONTICELLO, Ill. (WAND) — Saturday is the shortest day of the year, also known as the Winter Solstice.
At Allerton Park & Retreat Center, a celebratory bonfire lit up the night sky around 7:00 p.m.
Food trucks were available from 5-9:00 p.m.

Then, from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m., a Colt Ball & Friends concert took place inside the mansion.
Organizers also encouraged people to stroll through Holiday Glow while taking in the solstice.
