CHAMPAIGN, Ill. (WAND) — One 16-year-old boy is dead, and another is in critical condition after an overnight shooting Sunday morning.

Champaign police officers responded to the 1500 block of Holly Hill Drive just after midnight.

When they arrived, they found two 16-year-old boys shot and unconscious in the front yard of a home. 

Both boys were taken to the hospital. One of them passed away, and the other is in critical condition. 

The boy that passed away was identified by the Champaign County Coroner as Erion Turner. 

The investigation is still ongoing, and police are still looking for a suspect.
